Vegan Whipped Topping

This is a recipe adapted by Alice for a cookie recipe, and she thought it might be good on pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving. She was right!

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. stick margarine
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 1/4 tbsp. Corn syrup
1 tbsp. Vanilla
3/16 tsp. Salt
1 12.5-oz jar Schmucker's marshmallow ice cream topping

Beat together first 6 ingredients with mixer's wire whisk attachment. Beat in marshmallow topping on high speed until evenly incorporated.
